Do I have anyone on my friends list that does shower tile and would like to help with our Womens House? 🙏

When we finally took ownership of the women's house in April, the sight of the lawn was disheartening—it resembled nothing more than a vast patch of unruly weeds. It reminded me of what happens when you toss a seed into such an area. Devoid of the necessary nutrients, it struggles to grow and thrive. However, we weren't discouraged. We rolled up our sleeves, determined to transform the landscape. We toiled, tending to the soil, uprooting the weeds, and sowing the seed. And now, behold, our efforts have borne fruit—a lush carpet of grass, with only a few resilient weeds remaining, which are now much easier to identify and address.

Gazing upon the initial picture, it's understandable how one might feel overwhelmed, even defeated, before even starting the journey. Yet, let us consider how this mirrors our lives and the metaphorical weeds symbolizing our sins, while the seed represents our relationship with Christ. Just as we sought assistance and sought the Holy Spirit's guidance and forgiveness to cleanse our past wrongdoings, we must also permit Him to work in the depths of our hearts (like tilling the soil), stirring it up and preparing it for growth. Only then are we truly ready to flourish, with only occasional and isolated weeds popping up along the way.

Our journey is influenced by various elements. The company we keep, the nourishment we seek spiritually and emotionally, the condition of our hearts, and even the environments we immerse ourselves in—these all play crucial roles. Let us not underestimate our potential or hinder our progress; instead, let us provide ourselves with the optimal conditions to become the individuals we were destined to be. May God bless and guide us on this transformative path.

Update!!!! We closed on the houses and now in the process of a couple updates and fixes before we open our 2nd Womens House in El Dorado. It has been a difficult process and our faith has been tested. Nicole Webb and I continue to say we are all in and will do what God calls us to. The 2nd Chance Beginnings family as a whole has been amazing through this process.
