Wichita Knitters' Guild

Registration deadline for the Kansas State Fair is August 1st, and oh how I would LOVE to see Wichita Knitter's Guild and just Wichita knitters, crocheters, dyers, weavers, spinners, sewists show up and show out! Late entries are accepted through August 19. Register here: https://kansasst.fairwire.com/ then plan to bring your items to the fairgrounds Thurs, Aug 27 noon to 8, Fri, Aug 28 11-6, and Sat, Aug 29 9 to noon. Suzanne is planning to transport items and is happy to take yours to Hutch if you can't make it. Let's shake a tail feather, y'all!

Come join us this Wednesday July 15 at the downtown YMCA 5-6 open knit, 6-8 program. Our July program is all about brioche, and we're not talking about that fancy Frenchie bread with a topknot... Here's the free pattern we're using: https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2025/09/09/two-color-brioche-hat/ Materials needed are DK/light Worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors and US size 4 needles. Please cast on your desired size to be prepared for the program and bring FO's and WIPs to share! 🥰

The June meeting of WKG was a fascinating dive into reverse engineering a vintage sweater led by our very own Vicki R. And our knitters been BUSY! Huge thanks to Guild President Christince for taking photos in my absence (I was under the weather, absent this month) and to Vicki for providing snacks in my absence. WKG is hosting another awesome movie night: The Sheep Detectives, Sunday May 10 @ 12:15, AMC Northrock. Tickets are $10 via PayPal . We have the theatre to ourselves, leaving the lights on low so we can knit during the show… and it’s so fun to go to the movies with friends! Come join us!
