Lime paint and lime plaster are having a well-deserved moment, and it's easy to see why. Although these natural mineral finishes have been used for centuries, they've recently become a favorite for adding warmth, movement, and timeless character to today's interiors. As a bonus, they're breathable, zero VOC, and naturally resist mold, mildew, and bacteria, helping support healthier indoor spaces.

So what's the difference? Lime paint is brushed on in thin layers to create a soft, matte finish with beautiful color variation, making it ideal for lower traffic areas. Lime plaster is applied by hand with a trowel in multiple layers, creating greater texture, depth, and a stone-like appearance that's also more durable. Both offer a one-of-a-kind finish that simply can't be replicated with traditional paint, making them a beautiful choice for anyone looking to add lasting character to their home.

Fun fact, grasscloth was first popular in the 60s and 70s. My grandma’s house still has it throughout her basement; however, I updated it with a toning glaze, giving it a fresh, modern feel while keeping the character that made it special in the first place!

Excited to share this beautiful new custom ceiling, a recently completed sixth project for a home we completed five projects in last year! Each finish throughout the home was thoughtfully designed to coordinate and flow together, with this ceiling serving as the focal point in the main living space.

Ceilings require a different level of consideration, as not every finish translates the same way overhead. This design was built through four layers and a combination of plasters, some smooth, some matte, and others with a subtle sheen, creating depth, texture, and movement. A soft, shimmery clear coat brings everything together, adding a refined finish that enhances the overall effect.

It’s always a privilege to return to a client’s home, and even more meaningful to be trusted across multiple spaces and projects. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue creating in a home with such a strong sense of style and vision!
