Feeling a little crushed today. As you know, I've been fundraising at events for Blood Cancer United and Blood Cancer United - Kansas, which used to be called the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I really want to do this fundraiser right.

We process credit cards at some events, and someone is challenging a $50 payment at an event. This kind of fundraising is different. I don't have funds to work with. It's a combination of sponsor and donation support -- of which I am so very grateful -- but moments like this are a little deflating.

I trust it will get resolved. I've contacted the shopper. BUT if it doesn't, then I'm out the $50... more importantly, though, the non-profit is out that money.

I committed myself to help people in our community - people like this little girl, Reese. I've shared her story for many years on TV and online. Also, my Uncle Glenn. Both of them are leukemia warriors. Reese is doing great and my uncle just went through chemotherapy treatments with his fight.

19-year-old Tyree Jackson Jr. was sentenced to almost 37 years in connection with the 2024 shooting death of 20-year-old Jaden Wilson in northeast Wichita.

Jackson Jr. was 17 at the time of the incident.

Tyree Jackson Sr., his father, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2024 and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
