Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom is more than a moment in history. It is the right to live with dignity, access care, and thrive in healthy communities.

The legacy of criminalization and systemic inequities continues to impact Black communities today, including disparities in overdose deaths and access to treatment. That is why we believe in a public health approach rooted in education, harm reduction, recovery support, and community care.

This Juneteenth, we honor Black resilience by sharing lifesaving information, reducing stigma, and ensuring people have access to the resources they need.

Save a Life. Carry Naloxone. Recovery Works.

Prevent Accidental Poisonings Before They Happen

Know what’s in your home. Lock up medications, opioids, and cannabis products. Keep them out of sight and out of reach of children.

Be prepared:
• Learn the signs of poisoning and overdose.
• Keep naloxone available if opioids are in the home.
• Save Poison Control: 1-800-222-1222 (24/7).

Community prevention starts at home.

Need naloxone or a medication lock box? Contact Safe Streets Wichita or visit dccca.org for resources.
