Intentional Filling
08/28/2025
Itโs been 11 years since I first hit publish on the name Intentional Filling and it never ceases to amaze me of the work God has done in and through this ministry (and me) since that day!
This year has looked very different than the last few, but it has been a year of growth and healing behind-the-scenes, just as God intendedโฆ and some incredible biblical study this past winter and spring.
Iโm grateful for the IF communityโs faithfulness through it all and the opportunity to study with all of you again very soon!
Happy birthday, sweet ministry of mine!
God, take the lead as we head into year twelve. ๐๐ป

Feel like youโre not โqualifiedโ to study the Bible?
Youโre not alone.
Imposter syndrome can creep in and whisper things like,
โIโm not smart enoughโ
โI donโt know enoughโ
โWho am I to teach others?โ
But hereโs the capital โTโ Truth:

. ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐

You donโt need a seminary degree to seek God.
You need a willing heart.
Start small. Stay curious. Ask questions.
And trust that the Holy Spirit will guide you as you grow.
Remember: Confidence doesnโt come from knowing it all. It comes from knowing the One who does.
Open your Bible, and let God meet you there. ๐๐

Q: Do you write in your Bible?
A: That is something that really took me a long time to feel comfortable doing.
In fact, today, my Timehop app reminded me of a post that I shared a couple of years ago about how I used to look down upon my friends who used to write in their textbooks in college. I guess I scoffed at one of my friends, at one time as she was highlighting.
She told me, โBree, you know, I own this book. I bought this book. I donโt intend to return it. Itโs not from the library. This is a way I map out and provide myself some lighthouses during the stormy time of life. That way I can come back to and find the information, and know where it is, and that I can find it more easily.โ
So I really encourage you to take your time reading through the passage, making note of the context, as you are reading, that can teach you more about what is happening.
Get a set of your favorite colored pens, to highlight and underline, and write in the margins. Make note of the things that help you build the context of what youโre reading:
โข the time period,
โข the names,
โข key phrases,
โข context clues down in the footnotes.
Iโm curious, do YOU write in your Bible?
If not, will you give it a try now?? ๐๐
