It's opening night! Don't miss 2 One-Act Plays by Oglebay Institute's Parcel Players at Oglebay Institute's Towngate Theatre & Cinema.

“Oh, What a Tangled Web” by John R. Carroll. Directed by Joel Nau
On an impulse, a young girl makes up a story, and the complications that result from it are extremely funny. Suddenly, needing an excuse, the girl fumbles for a moment and then blurts out that there has been a death in the family. Actually, the only thing wrong in this family is that the cat is missing. In any case, people start coming over to express their concern and sympathy. The parents think they’re referring to the missing cat, and the hilarious complications just continue to multiply!

“And Then We Washed Ashore and Found Ourselves Here” by Elissa C. Huang. Directed by Makayla Carney
What begins as a trip to a girls’ leadership program becomes a nightmare when a group of survivors find themselves trapped on a deserted island with uncertain memories of how they got there. As members of the group start to go missing, the girls start to suspect that they may not be alone. Part psychological thriller, part coming-of-age story, And Then We Washed Ashore and Found Ourselves Here is a haunting mystery about the whispers that lurk in the shadows around us, and the ones in the darkest corners of our minds.

Opening Night is Thursday, July 16th at 7pm, also Friday, July 17th at 7pm, and Saturday, July 18th at 7pm with a matinee on Sunday, July 19th at 3pm.
