Seven years ago, Chris Lynn Chris Lynn walked into Seniors Resource Center and got to work.
Today, we say thank you. ๐
Yesterday we gathered with friends, partners, and supporters to celebrate Chris's seven years as President & CEO, and to honor a legacy built on one simple conviction: people are our why.
When Chris joined SRC in 2019, the organization had real work ahead. He leaves it stronger, steadier, and ready to grow. Under his leadership, SRC now serves more than 11,000 older adults every year through nearly 67,000 hours of care: adult day programs, in-home care, caregiver support, care management, and more. But the numbers only tell part of the story. What Chris really built was a culture, one rooted in equity, respect, and the belief that the quality of care we deliver is only as strong as the people delivering it.
As our Board Chair Jessica Dunbar put it, "Chris has been a transformational leader for SRC. He inherited an organization that needed significant work, and he leaves us stronger, more stable, and ready to grow."
In his farewell to staff, Chris reminded us that in a world too often defined by division, there are people who live each day in peace, helpfulness, and support, and that the care we give can change a life we may never even know about. That's the spirit he leaves behind.
Thank you, Chris, for seven years of heart, humor, hard work, and leadership. The foundation you built is exactly why SRC's future is so bright.
And because we couldn't let you go without one last classic Chris dad joke:
When is a retiree's bedtime?
Three hours after he falls asleep on the couch. ๐
Enjoy it, Chris. You've earned every minute. ๐ฅ

What a memorable morning this past Friday! Teresa D. and Chandra M. had the honor of joining Great Day Colorado โ and Teresa D. couldn't have been more proud to introduce Chandra publicly for the first time as our new President & CEO! ๐
And today, May 10th, is officially Chandra's first day โ we are so excited for her leadership opportunity and are looking forward to Seniors Resource Center's next chapter! We're grateful for Chris Lynn's leadership legacy - Chris will remain through the end of the month to ensure a smooth transition.
With May being Older Americans Month, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. We had a wonderful opportunity to share how our adult day program supports older adults and their family caregivers โ the people who dedicate so much of themselves to the ones they love.

๐ถ Happy National Take a Walk in the Park Day! ๐ณโ๏ธ
These pictures say it all! Our Adult Day participants who choose to head out every day for a supervised walk with our skilled, caring staff โ and the smiles, the conversation, and the fresh air speak for themselves.
Science backs up what we see every single day:
โ
A daily walk can reduce the risk of developing dementia by up to 50%
โ
Regular walking can slow cognitive decline in those already living with dementia
โ
It improves mood, reduces anxiety and inflammation, and supports better sleep
โ
It strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure, and boosts overall brain health
But what the research can't fully capture? The way one participant led by staff helps the whole group with a wave and a grin. The gentle hand on a shoulder between friends. The laughter shared along the way. That's the magic of community โ and that's what our program is built on.
If you have a loved one who could benefit from a safe, engaging, and joyful Adult Day program, we'd love to connect. Our team is here to support both participants and the families who care for them.

Today our incredible participants tackled spring cleanup in our garden beds, pulling out last season's growth and uncovering the beautiful daffodils already pushing through.
From Jamie to Rich to Maria and the whole crew, everyone pitched in โ and the smiles said it all.
Did you know that gardening is one of the most powerful therapeutic activities for older adults, especially those living with dementia? Research shows that time in the garden can reduce agitation and anxiety, improve mood and sense of purpose, stimulate memory through familiar sights, smells, and textures, encourage meaningful movement and exercise, and foster connection and a sense of accomplishment.
There's something extraordinary that happens when someone who may struggle with words reaches down and gently tends a flower. The hands remember. The heart feels it.
That's what a meaningful day looks like here. ๐
Whether your loved one is living with dementia, recovering from a health setback, or simply needs engaging support during the day โ our Adult Day program offers so much more than just supervision. We offer purpose. Community. Joy.

๐ We found the REAL pot of gold at the end of the rainbow โ and his name is SAMMY! โ๏ธ๐พ
Leprechaun Sammy paid a very special St. Patrick's Day visit to our Adult Day participants, and the smiles said it all! This fluffy little charmer arrived in full costume โ hat, coat, and curly shoes โ escorted by his handler and our beloved former Adult Day family caregiver client, Lynn M.
Sammy's visits are more than just adorable (though, let's be honest... look at him! ๐) โ they are genuinely therapeutic. Research shows that animal-assisted visits can:
๐พ Reduce anxiety and agitation in people living with dementia
๐ Spark long-term memories and meaningful conversation
๐ Boost mood and increase smiling and laughter
๐ค Encourage gentle physical touch and engagement
โค๏ธ Decrease feelings of loneliness and isolation
Sammy, you may be small, but the joy you bring is ENORMOUS. ๐ Thank you, Lynn, for sharing him with us!
๐ Know a family caregiver who could use some support โ or a loved one who would love to meet Sammy? Our Adult Day program is a warm, welcoming place where participants enjoy meaningful activities, compassionate care, and yes โ a special furry visitor! ๐ถ
