Ok so this dog right here taught me absolute patience. When I first got this dog 3 years ago and put him through basics. It took him almost 8 weeks to get through walking fetch. Every day it was Groundhog Day and we worked and we worked. One day it finally clicked for him and remember calling his owner Clay Godwin to tell him I think he finally understands what I’m asking of him. On and on we went. And hunting season came around. He was what I would consider an ok dog as far as talent and his drive was not anywhere near what anyone would consider great. Fast forward after three hunting seasons. Clay comes with me to a hunt test and decides “hey let’s just see if he might be able to do it”. When I got Shiner back in training after about 4 days I asked Clay if this was even the same dog?!! He WANTS to work he’s enjoying what we are doing now. It just took some time to mature. A couple of hunting seasons really did him a HUGE favor. And this weekend he will run his first senior test. I honestly never thought he would be on my truck running him at a test but I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do. In this video we are going through the early stages of four phase drill and Incorporate the poison bird in with Shiner because he has done some poison bird work in the past. Poison birds are marks that the dog sees and then we handle to a different bird that the dog hasn’t seen. Now this is all taught and we are currently using white buckets on stakes to TEACH and make everything black and white to the dog.

We have puppies on the ground!!! This is Sophie’s last litter. She will continue to run tests after these puppies but she will no longer have any more litters.
Sophie has produced two previous litters with Slider’s son NFC AFC Foxx and they were amazing puppies. Extremely biddable and have produced multiple HRCH and HR titled puppies with Master passes.
Sophie is in the HRC 500 point club. She has her GRHRCH title. Qualified for the 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 Master national (2020 Master National was cancelled) She will run for her Master National hall of Fame this fall. Sophie is extremely biddable and an excellent marker. She throws these traits across her puppies and I look forward to seeing the accomplishments of these puppies.
For anyone that has seen Scoop this is going to be Scoop’s pedigree. Scoop’s Dam is Sophie’s littermate and Scoop passed his first Master national as a young 3 year old. Scoop qualified for the last four master nationals as well and will run for his GRHRCH title and MNH title this fall.
For anyone that knows Slider, we know him as the producer of NFC AFC Foxx, FC AFC Chosen, FC Bayou Teche Frank among others!!! He is a producer!!! Plain and simple. He produces excellent markers and biddable team players!!! This is a litter that I expect to produce great accomplishments. They should be able to play any game you want to play!!!

Very very proud and impressed with this dog!!! This is Karbach owned by Andrew Cone. This fall Karbach has picked up 2 senior passes, 3 HRC finished passes and this past weekend he picked up his first Master pass at Bryan College Station AKC Fall hunt test. There are lots more great things to come from this handsome boy!!!

Well now that it’s official.... BOTH SCOOP AND SOPHIE passed the HRC International GRAND!! The pinnacle of hunt tests in the retriever games. Both of these dogs have had more bad luck than you could ever imagine sometimes. We have worked so hard for this and Sophie is my first TITLED GRHRCH!! I’ve passed it several times but it requires two passes and the second one is always the hardest!! She’s come into heat, gotten bad breaks, this go round I thought it was going to happen again. She had the sun in her eyes on the go bird of the first series and had to handle on it. Dogs get one minor mistake in 5 days. They have to be perfect!! Her one hiccup was that. She ran the table after that and absolutely killed it!!! I’ve known from the beginning both of these dogs are very special and it shows in their pure talent!!
Thank you for taking care of her and running them both when I couldn’t!!! I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know. Now it’s on to Master National and let’s bring home some Pewter plates!!!
