You don’t have to do this exercise next time you train, but it’s a call to arms to add more rotation into your routine.
Too often we’re only training the up/down or push/ pull movements and we’re missing an entire ecosystem of movement.
This one in particular is great for athletes because it’s an advanced progression where you’re weighted and need to plant, change directions, and generate power through the hips.

Ray is back in the gym working on getting his legs back for football.
Couple dumbbell deadlifts into broadjumps, and you’ve got a potent combo that requires Ray be explosive after tiring his legs and posterior chain.
Also note, when Ray is jumping and landing, his knees track over his toes and don’t go all cattywampus.
