Yesterday was a busy one for the JTF. Our bluapple Poetry Network finalists visited the The Ancient Spanish Monastery and Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami for Day Four of our week-long, culturally immersive experience supported by the Miami Dolphins Foundation and UKG , while some of our dedicated Careers in Sports students participated in the first of three football statisticians courses in advance of the Broward County National High School Football Showcase in partnership with the Broward Education Foundation. Special thanks to the Jim Moran Foundation and The Power of Sports for the support of this effort.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that bring us together and the communities that make our country so special. As we gather with family and friends, we’re reminded that the strength of our nation is built on people who serve, support, and lift one another up.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us create opportunities for children and families throughout South Florida. Your generosity and commitment continue to make a lasting impact.

Day 3 of our Careers in Sports Summer Institute brought our students to 104.3 WQAM where Alejandro Solana took us on a tour, brought students into studios and even put a few on the mic. Alejandro shared his personal journey and gave fantastic advice about breaking into the industry. We then made our way to Barry University where the admissions team introduced us to the University and then Jamie Carrig discussed opportunities within sport that aligned with our five pillars. The students finished the day in Barry’s e-sports arena.

We kicked of our 2026 Careers in Sports Summer Institute today with Miami Hurricanes Athletics. 17 students representing eight different high schools across three counties participated as we toured the Hurricanes Athletics Offices. Our students learned about fields including video production, Communications, Academic Support, Athletic Training, and Facilities and Operations. We are grateful for Shirelle Wright Jackson and her colleagues for this experience.

Special thanks must also go out to The Jim Moran Foundation and The Power of Sports for helping to make this year’s program a reality.
