You’ve been told to help balance out your cortisol you need to exercise, eat right and get good rest. And this is not wrong!

BUT… this is not the whole story there are other integral pieces to help regulate your cortisol levels, which can impact your weight, your energy and your mood.

Progesterone: the calming neutosteroid who fluctuates during perimenopause drops completely post-menopause and fluctuates heavily with stress

Thyroid: if your thyroid isn’t converting from T4 to T3, very well the body thinks that this is a depletion or deficit of your energy and stresses out the body raising cortisol levels

Glucose: when you have very low carbohydrate intake or even overall food intake, your body feels stressed due to an energy imbalance and your cortisol drives fat storing so your body can break down other sources for energy
