3 1/2 weeks after tearing my meniscus and spraining my left MCL, I no longer need a brace and I’m limping less and less every day.
The body has an innate ability to heal itself when given what it needs; proper treatment, proper rest, proper exercise, proper mindset AND proper nutrition!
Just 16 days after tearing my medial meniscus and suffering a sprain of my medial collateral ligament (all in my left knee), I’m able to do banded goblet squats with a 30lb dumbbell.
The band helps to strengthen my hip abductors (outer hips) to help keep my knee from buckling in. I can’t get into deep knee flexion yet without pain but I’m close to getting my thighs parallel to the ground. I’ve been working on my knee every day and this shows how well and quickly the body can heal when you give it what it needs.
