โโ๏ธ When someone gives an initial "No" to your proposal or idea, being ready with fallback position is often the catalyst to getting to "Yes."
๐ The rule of reciprocity dictates, when you concede or moderate, most people concede or moderate in return. However, that may not be enough.
๐ The key is to be ready with your concession immediately after hearing no.
๐ค If you wait, whatever you put on the table will be interpreted as a new offer, not a concession that should be met with a concession.
โ
Masters of influence understand this, always anticipate "No" AND are ready in the moment with alternative options.

๐ถ ๐ฆด Think about children. Sometimes they wake up in the middle of the night crying because of growing pains. They don't understand that their bones are stretching, their bodies are changing, but they know theyโre experiencing pain.
๐โโ๏ธ The same is true throughout life. When I competed in powerlifting and bodybuilding, growth was far from comfortable! Some workouts pushed me to the point of nausea.
๐โโ๏ธ Training for marathons wasn't much different. Running farther and faster required thousands of miles, early mornings, sore muscles, occasional injuries, and many days when quitting seemed like the better option.
๐ค Physical growth demands discomfort. But I've come to believe the hardest growth isn't physical.

Sometimes a simple question can spark a thought and inspire an idea.
โค๏ธ My daughter, Abigail Ahearn, asked a question that was the inspiration for my most recent book.
๐ More than any other books I've written, I'm proud of ๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ช๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐ผ๐๐ค๐ซ๐ any because of something Dr. Robert Cialdini said after reading it.
๐ณ Cialdini told me it was completely unique because he'd never seen anyone make the connection between his principles of influence and faith.
๐ I feel like I've put something into the world that is completely uniquely and reflects how I see influence from an eternal perspective.

๐ โ๏ธ Full confession: I donโt feel bad when I donโt open your email. I donโt feel bad when I donโt return your phone call. And I donโt feel bad when I donโt reply to your text.
๐ฃ ๐ That might sound strange coming from someone who teaches ethical influence. After all, isnโt it polite to respond when someone reaches out? Usually, yes.
๐ณ ๐ But thereโs an important distinction we often overlook reciprocity was designed for human relationships, not automated marketing campaigns.

๐๏ธ Shฤ Sparks invited me to join her on her show again but this time the discussion was a two-for-one.
๐ ๐ We explored concepts from my books, ๐๐๐จ ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐ฎ, ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐ฎ, ๐๐ช๐ง ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐ฎ and ๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ช๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ค๐ข ๐ผ๐๐ค๐ซ๐: ๐๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ก๐ช๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฉ.
โค๏ธ We looked at how influencing people begins with how intentionally we live, love, forgive, and lead.
๐ โ๏ธ I shared personal stories on ways faith, forgiveness, and intentional choices can shape, or reshape, family relationships, marriage, and legacy.
