With a $100,000 grant from TCI's Strengthening Families and Communities program, Community Roots Midwife Collective is expanding access to culturally responsive midwifery care for underserved families. This funding will support sliding-scale prenatal, birth and newborn care that integrates Indigenous ceremony, traditional healing, and trauma-informed, gender-inclusive services — helping ensure safe, dignified birth experiences and improved maternal and infant health outcomes. With a $150,000 grant from our Strengthening Families and Communities program, The Action Center is transforming a former elementary school into a one-stop hub for health, wellness and enrichment —expanding coordinated support for families, children and youth across Colorado. Through partnerships with local organizations, this project will increase access to essential services like food, financial assistance and family support — helping more families achieve stability and well-being. NorthWest Colorado Center for Independence is expanding support for deaf and hard of hearing youth in rural northwestern Colorado through an $80,000 grant from our Strengthening Families and Communities program. This funding will help youth navigate complex systems, build life skills, and access the resources they need to succeed in education, employment, and independent living. We’re proud to support YouthZone with a $57,452 Strengthening Families and Communities grant to expand its Parent Support Program across four Colorado counties — bringing critical resources to underserved rural communities. Using the evidence-based CRAFT model, the program helps parents build stronger relationships, address challenges like trauma and substance use, and reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) — strengthening families in underserved rural communities. TCI awarded a $150,000 Strengthening Families and Communities grant to Servicios de La Raza to support culturally responsive care and improve maternal health outcomes for Latina women in Colorado. This funding will support efforts to train Spanish-speaking Promotoras (community health workers), provide screenings for pregnant women, and offer home monitoring for those at higher risk — helping reduce hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and build a scalable model to impact more women.
