If you experience an appliance issue over the holiday, please remember to put safety first:

- Turn off power to the appliance if needed.
- Shut off the water supply if a leak is present.
- Use dry ice in your refrigerator or freezer to help maintain safe temperatures if the appliance is not cooling. (Always handle dry ice with insulated gloves and ensure the area is well ventilated.)
- Contact a licensed plumber for plumbing emergencies.
- If you smell natural gas, leave the building immediately and contact NW Natural from a safe location.

Another successful dryer repair and maintenance service completed for a loyal customer in SE Portland!

The customer called us because their Amana dryer was no longer heating properly. After diagnosing the issue, our technician found a failed heating element and replaced it to restore proper drying performance.

While servicing the unit, we also performed our recommended dryer maintenance service, which included:

✅ Lubricating drum rollers, drum supports, and the belt tensioner/idler pulley
✅ Vacuuming out lint buildup inside the dryer cabinet
✅ Cleaning accumulated lint from the lint trap area

Check out these before-and-after photos! The amount of lint buildup inside this dryer was substantial—a very common problem that many homeowners never see because it's hidden inside the machine.

Excess lint can restrict airflow, reduce efficiency, increase drying times, cause heating issues, and even become a potential fire hazard. Routine maintenance helps keep your dryer running safely and efficiently while extending the life of key components.
