📚 The Baby-Sitters Club #4: Sophia VS The Soccer Ball 📚
From the Hawthorne’s Backyard Literary Collection

The saga continues…

Following the bestseller Chuck and the Mystery of the Unclaimed Child, our newest chapter chronicles the hazards of server Sophia just trying to do her job as a mob of children take over giant lawn pong and chaos ensues while their parents pretend not to see.

This week’s installment includes:
🍺 Attempted drink service interrupted by rogue tag teams
🍔 Food deliveries turned into obstacle courses
💳 Tabs opened, closed, reopened, and spiritually abandoned
👀 A rotating search party for the child last seen climbing furniture “just to see”

This thrilling sequel features:
🏃‍♂️ Kids rolling around and breaking lawn pong cans
🎯 Random projectiles launched from unknown locations
🫥 Adults encouraging children to wreak havoc instead of parenting
🔥 A fire pit transformed into what resembles a full blown riot scene
🤠 One child who has apparently never heard the word “NO” before

Meanwhile, Sophia is just trying to make it through a Saturday shift without adding soccer goalie to her résumé.

We LOVE having families here. We just ask that parents keep an eye on their little backyard adventurers so our staff can focus on serving food and drinks instead of participating in an unsanctioned dodgeball tournament. 🍻☀️

Happy Birthday, Lea 🛼✨

Since we met at Boogie Nights (back when if we fell we wouldn’t likely break a hip), it only felt right to bring back a little “Roller Girl” energy for this...

But more than the jokes and the nostalgia, it’s hard to believe it’s been 26 years of friendship. That’s a lot of seasons, a lot of late nights, a lot of growing up, and somehow still managing to keep things light when life gets heavy. You’ve always had that way of moving through it all with style, strength, and a kind of steady grace that’s stuck with you no matter what’s been going on around you.

I’m really grateful for all of it—the history, the laughs, the chaos, and everything in between. Watching you roll through life (literally and figuratively) has been one of the constants I’ve been lucky to have.

Hope your birthday is full of the people who love you, the music that takes you back, and a reminder of just how much you mean to so many. Here’s to 26 years behind us—and many more still rolling ahead 🛼💫

Happy Birthday, Wea.
♥️ Heider

📚 JUST RELEASED from the Hawthorne’s Backyard Literary Collection:

The Baby-Sitters Club #60:
Lea and the Impossible Shift

Following the bestselling drama of Lou Hates Yelling (at Kids), our newest chapter follows Lea as she attempts the impossible:

🍺 Serve drinks
🍔 Deliver food
💳 Run tabs
👀 Locate the parents of the child currently climbing on the playground roof

This thrilling sequel features:
🏃‍♂️ Kids playing tag through packed server stations
🎯 Random projectiles launched from unknown locations
🫥 Parents who have achieved near-perfect invisibility
🔥 A fire pit transformed into an unsanctioned obstacle course
🤠 One child who appears to have been raised entirely by vibes

Meanwhile, Lea is just trying to make it through her shift without issuing an Amber Alert for a child whose parents were "right here a second ago."

We LOVE having families here. We just ask that parents keep an eye on their little backyard adventurers so our staff can focus on serving food and drinks instead of auditioning for babysitting duties. 🍻☀️
