Why don't we call this a sunscreen, even though it contains 20% zinc oxide?

Every ingredient in our Sun Stick serves a purpose.

✨ Grass-fed tallow helps nourish and support the skin barrier.
✨ Jojoba oil closely resembles the skin's natural oils, helping moisturize without feeling greasy.
✨ Argan oil is rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help keep skin soft and conditioned.
✨ Coconut oil adds glide and moisture.
✨ Beeswax creates a protective barrier that helps lock in hydration.
✨ Vitamin E provides antioxidant support.
✨ Vanilla and cacao add a subtle natural scent.

And then there's zinc oxide.

Our Sun Stick contains 20% non-nano zinc oxide, a mineral UV filter that sits on the surface of the skin and helps reflect and scatter portions of the sun's UV rays. Unlike chemical UV filters, non-nano zinc oxide is not absorbed into the skin and begins working immediately after application.

Why don't we call this a sunscreen?

Because sunscreen products must undergo standardized SPF and broad-spectrum testing to verify exactly how much protection they provide. While zinc oxide is the active ingredient commonly used in mineral sunscreens, our Sun Stick has not undergone SPF testing, so we don't make sunscreen claims or assign an SPF value.

Instead, we formulate it as a simple, mineral-based skin protectant made with nourishing ingredients and non-nano zinc oxide.

We made 150 full size jars, 30 travel size jars, and 300 sample packs. It's certainly a labor of love.

Why using pure tallow is not the best idea?

We mix our grass-fed suet tallow with other oila for a good reason! The goal is always to give you the best skin of your life.
