๐ŸŒฟ Big News for San Benito and ALL nature lovers! ๐ŸŒฟ

The City of San Benito has been awarded a $750,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to improve San Benito Wetlands! ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒธ

This funding will help bring:
โœ… New restroom & interpretive kiosk
โœ… Pollinator gardens & native habitat enhancements
โœ… Walking trails & benches with wheelchair access
โœ… Bird blinds, environmentally friendly lighting, & more

"This grant allows us to protect one of San Benitoโ€™s most important nature areas while creating a safe and welcoming space for families to enjoy," said Mayor Ricardo Guerra.

The project also aligns with our 2025 Parks Master Plan, helping expand green spaces, improve amenities, and preserve local ecosystems for generations to come! ๐ŸŒณ

"We want to thank our city staff for their hard work on this grant and all the community members who joined us for our public input sessions," Guerra said. "Thanks to you, this project is moving forward!"
