🎉 Silva Elementary Celebrates a STEM Champion! 🏆
We are proud to recognize Julian Vargas, an outstanding student, for earning 1st Place in the Elementary Division at the 2026 Railway Safety Camp!

As a member of the award-winning team, "The Fantastic Four," Julian competed alongside students from across the RGV. This camp welcomed approximately 900 elementary, middle, and high school students for a week of hands-on STEM learning. Camp participants explored engineering design, LEGO robotics, and real-world transportation challenges while strengthening their creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Julian's hard work, innovation, and teamwork helped lead The Fantastic Four to an impressive 1st Place finish in the elementary division during the final competition.

Congratulations, Julian! We are incredibly proud of you. Thank you for representing Silva Elementary and Weslaco ISD with excellence. Your success is an inspiration to our entire school community, and we can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish in the future!

📢 STAAR Scores Are Now Available! 📢

Silva Elementary parents, your child's 2026 STAAR results are now available through the Texas Assessment Family Portal.

You can access your child's scores by:

✅ Visiting https://www.wisd.us/parentsstudents

✅ Logging in with your HAC account (the same account used to view grades, report cards, attendance, and annual registration)
✅ Clicking on Grades (Home Access Center)
✅ Selecting Texas Test Scores

The Texas Assessment Family Portal provides much more than a score! Families can view:

⭐ Your child's performance level (Did Not Meet, Approaches, Meets, or Masters Grade Level)
⭐ Scale scores and statewide comparisons
⭐ Performance by reporting category/skill area
⭐ Reading Lexile® measures and Math Quantile® measures to help identify books and learning activities at the appropriate level
⭐ Personalized resources and activities to support learning at home
⭐ Specific information about areas of strength and areas that may need additional support

Summer is a great time to review these results with your child. The report includes tailored suggestions and learning activities that can help keep skills sharp and prepare students for success in the upcoming school year.
