Totem Pole Road Improvement Project: The project near downtown Manson is behind schedule, with its potential for completion now moving into mid-July. Construction originally was set to wrap up this month. We have been working with the contractor to regain the schedule.

At this time, we don’t expect the roadway impacted by the project to be paved until after mid-July. We will continue to give you updates as we have them. The project webpage is at www.co.chelan.wa.us/public-works/pages/totem-pole-road

🚴 Traffic Advisory: Lake Chelan Rotary Cycle Chelan Event
Saturday, June 20, 2026

The Lake Chelan Rotary Cycle Chelan Event will take place in the McNeil Canyon and Lake Chelan area on Saturday, June 20, from approximately 7 AM to 5 PM (impacts may begin earlier for setup and extend later for cleanup).

The map below shows the approved route on Douglas County-maintained roadway (McNeil Canyon Road only). Douglas County does not approve or manage event activities on state highways or non-county roadways.

No Douglas County road closures are planned; however, motorists should expect bicyclists in the roadway, temporary traffic control signs, race marshals, and possible minor delays. Please use caution, follow all posted traffic control devices and personnel, and remain patient and courteous while traveling through the area.

For state highways (US-2/97/97A and SR-150), please contact WSDOT. For areas within the City of Chelan or Chelan County, please contact the respective jurisdiction.

HEADS UP: We've got a closure coming to the Dryden Transfer Station because of a state road improvement project coming our way.

When WSDOT is working on its paving project on US 2, there will be no access to the Dryden Transfer Station when the contractor is working on the highway near our entrance.

That means we will have to close the transfer station from about June 29 through July 6, reopening on July 7 to the public. We'll keep you posted, but if you need us, please plan to come in before that June 29 closure.

This is a state road project. Any questions should be directed at WSDOT. Visit the project website for more info: https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/us-2-west-cashmere-paving
