IBH 2024 Haunt Reveal - Wendigo -
Deep within the heart of the forest in Wells Maine, lies the infamous Whispering Pines Trail. It was a place of eerie beauty, but this trail was no ordinary path—it was cursed.
On a moonless night, a group of hikers set out to explore the trail. Their footsteps crunched on the fallen leaves, and the wind carried their laughter, completely unaware of the disturbance they’ve caused. they continued through the twisting path trekking further away from safety. The wendigos watched from the shadows, their eyes glowing like dying embers, until one by one, the hikers slowly disappeared. Their screams echoed through the forest, but no one came to their aid. The wendigos feasted on their fear. They wore the remnants of their victims—tattered hiking gear, blood-stained jackets—as trophies. The survivors stumbled upon an old cabin, its windows boarded up. Desperation drove them inside, seeking refuge. But the wendigos were relentless. They scratched at the walls, their claws leaving deep gouges. The survivors huddled together, whispering prayers to forgotten gods. The wendigos surrounded the cabin, their breath fogged the windows, and their voices echoed through the silence. They demanded a sacrifice—a life to satisfy their hunger. The youngest of the group, stepped forward. Her tear-filled eyes met theirs. The wendigos closed in, their skeletal forms towering over her, then feasted on her flesh, their hunger momentarily sated. But the curse remained. Whispering Pines Trail would forever be haunted by their malevolence. Those who dared to walk its twisted path would hear the echoes of lost souls and their footsteps drowned out by the wendigos’ mournful cries.
