A few days at Greyfield Inn feels like stepping into another world ✨
Accessible only by boat, this grand, storied home sits on wild, protected Cumberland Island—where over half the island is preserved wilderness and the pace of life softens the moment you arrive.
Think: miles of trails beneath sweeping live oaks and tall pines, salt marshes shimmering at golden hour, wild horses wandering freely, armadillos rustling in the brush, and beaches so wide and empty they feel entirely your own. The shell collecting alone is worth the journey.
And then… the table. Generous, beautifully prepared meals. A kitchen garden overflowing. Fine wines and a throwback “honest John” cocktail bar. All-you-can-eat oyster roasts on the patio. Picnic basket lunches to grab and go by bike or foot.
It is gracious. It is delicious. It is deeply restorative.
A natural—and national—treasure I will be dreaming about for a long time. 🌿🦪🍷

There’s nothing like a festive cookie swap to kick off the holiday mood. This year I brought cranberry pistachio shortbread—those bright pops of red and green make these slice-and-bake beauties a cheerful must on any holiday cookie tray. They were a lovely addition to an already fabulous spread. Best part? Heading home with a big, joyful assortment—without doing all the baking.

Fourteen years ago—before Joyful Kitchen even had a name—we met. Her vision and brilliant kitchen design helped shape not only this space, but the branding you see today. Watching her and her incredible team gather here for their holiday celebration felt beautifully full-circle.
So proud to call her a friend, endlessly grateful for her talent and trust, and honored to share this kitchen with her and her fabulous team. ✨
