A couple of weeks ago I read a post for about premie dads. It talked about how premie dads really don’t get enough credit for all that they often endure when their child is born premature, and I haven’t quit thinking about it all month. Honestly this is something I think about quite often and have even talked about in therapy. Moms often get all of the praise and recognition. And while yes, it was the hardest, most traumatic experience I’ve ever been through and hopefully will ever go through, I still can’t imagine what Cooper was feeling in those early days.

He suddenly had a wife and 3 babies all fighting for their lives on two different floors of the hospital. He bounced back and forth from the icu to the nicu around the clock. He’d catch rounds on the babies, then run to catch rounds on me. He was being pulled in a million different directions, because his entire family needed him.

He saw our babies first. Touched them first. Held them first. Did skin to skin first. Changed their diapers first. He quickly learned all the medical jargon and what every beep and alarm meant. When I was too critical to be able to go down to the nicu, he’d sit by my bed and show me pictures and videos and tell me everything about them.

He stayed calm when his entire world was coming down around him and truly pulled us through the toughest days of our lives. He was and continues to be our rock.

Premie dads are heros and I truly can’t imagine where we would be without ours 🫶🏼

Feeling incredibly thankful for this little family of mine! What a gift it is to be their mama 🦃

Fall break pt. 2 - watched some of our favorite people get married🫶🏼

Last month we celebrated turning 30 🎉 it was the best weekend with some of his favorite people and favorite things! He’s one of the easiest people I know to celebrate!

Shoutout to for truly making the weekend! I’ll think about this meal for the rest of time!!
