Why “just eat” doesn’t work.
Eating disorders aren’t driven by logic, they’re often tied to deep emotional patterns, fear, and anxiety around food and control.
That’s why simple advice or pressure doesn’t help someone heal. What’s needed instead is understanding, safety, and supportive care that addresses what’s happening underneath.
Recovery happens through guidance, not force, and through compassion, not criticism. đź«¶

Emotional hunger vs physical hunger 🌱
Sometimes what we feel as “hunger” isn’t coming from the body, it’s coming from emotions that need attention and care.
Physical hunger usually builds slowly, comes from the body’s natural signals, and eases when you’re full. 🫗
Emotional hunger can feel sudden, often linked to stress, sadness, boredom, or overwhelm, and it may not fully go away after eating.
Neither is wrong, they’re both signals asking for understanding, not judgment.
Learning the difference is part of building a kinder relationship with yourself.
