It is with a very very heavy heart I share with you the passing of my mom, Amy, the owner of Preakness Deli, a mom, a grandma and a friend to many. 💔

Obituary of Amy McKnight | Moore's Home for Funerals Amy (Lerner) McKnight, age 66 of Wayne, died Saturday, August 27, 2022 at home. Mrs. McKnight was born in Pompton Plains, NJ the daughter of the late Sidney and the late Blossom (Klein) Lerner. She was the owner and operator of the Preakness Gourmet Deli in Wayne for 40 years. We would like to thank all of our customers for the amazing outpouring of love and support you showed us today as we draw closer to our final day. We apologize for the extremely long waits you experienced in trying to get your last sandwich orders.
We did not think we were going to be as busy as we were today. We appreciate you all for coming in to reminisce, get your favorites, and your well wishes to the entire staff.

Due to the abundance of orders we received today, we have been severely depleted of some of your favorite deli items.
For tomorrow, Saturday January 22nd, our Last Day, we will be SOLD OUT of the following ....
Ham
Roast Beef
Corned Beef
Pastrami
Cappicola
Other meats and cheeses are on a limited basis. If you plan on coming in on Saturday for our last day, please call your orders in early, as we are sure to run out of most, if not all product.

It's with an extremely heavy heart that after 40yrs, the Preakness Gourmet Deli will be shutting its doors for the last time on Saturday, January 22nd at our scheduled 3pm closing time.

We truly appreciate serving our community for the past 4 decades. Your loyalty is what kept us going for all of these years.

A Thank You to our employees who have stuck with us and given us everything they've had. Your dedication to this team are certainly appreciated.

A huge Thank You to all who have made the Preakness Gourmet Deli a part of their lives. We will miss serving you and having you as part of our family. The relationships we have made over the last 40 years are truly remarkable. Your memories will forever be in our hearts.
