The Dr. David F. Johnson Jr. Solar Facility near Osmond is beginning to take shape as crews have started installing solar panels at the site.
Once complete, the facility will feature 2.5 MW of solar generation paired with a 2 MW, four-hour battery energy storage system, providing both locally generated power and energy storage to help support the electric grid, improve reliability, and help stabilize rates.
To put the project's size into perspective, the facility is expected to generate enough electricity annually to serve nearly 400 homes—more than the total number of homes located within the City of Osmond.
Thank you to our employees, contractors, landowners, and community partners who are helping make this project a reality. We look forward to sharing additional progress updates as construction continues.

Our crew is at it again—helping make our communities a little safer and more comfortable! ☀️
This week, the Northeast Power team assisted with the installation of new sunshades at Pender Park. These shades will help provide protection from harmful UV rays, giving children and families a cooler place to enjoy the playground during the hot summer months.
We're proud to support projects that enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve. Small improvements can make a big difference, especially when it comes to creating safe spaces for kids to play and make memories.
Great job to our crew for stepping up and making a positive impact once again! 💙💚
