So, one of our interns gets way more work done at The Pinery Coffee Co. than at the office. 🤣

Apparently, background noise + coffee + people coming and going = the perfect recipe for productivity.

Meanwhile, the rest of us need complete silence. 😅
We're all wired a little differently, and that's okay.

So we're curious... Where do you do your best work?

Storytime alert…

When I was in high school, I wrote a business plan for my agency.

I remember showing it to my mom. She was impressed, but then explained why it probably wouldn't work. Why entrepreneurship was risky and hard and why I should focus on something more stable.

To be fair, she wasn't trying to discourage me. She was trying to protect me and give me the best advice she could based on her experiences, knowledge, and the realities she had seen.

But even when advice is well-intentioned, it's often limited by the person giving it.

When I moved to the States, I started my business anyway. (And I'm incredibly grateful I did.)

Last year, I had a similar experience when I decided to take a flight lesson.

Flying an airplane had been on my bucket list since I was sixteen. The moment the opportunity presented itself, I knew I wanted to do it and I knew I'd regret not doing it. And once again, there were plenty of people who thought it was a bad idea.

Too risky. Too dangerous. Too expensive. Too unnecessary.

But I did it anyway and it ended up being one of the most memorable experiences of my life (pilot’s license is definitely in the plans

Over the years or taking leaps of faith with my business, I've learned that there are two very different kinds of uncertainty.

>> The first is the uncertainty that tells you to slow down, gather information, and think things through.

>> The second is the uncertainty that exists simply because you're doing something new, ambitious, or meaningful.

Don't confuse the two.

If you're starting a business, launching a new service, investing in your brand, changing direction, or pursuing a goal that excites you, there will always be people who think it's a bad idea. Sometimes they're right, but most often they're projecting their own fears, limitations, and comfort zones onto your future.

So stick to your vision. Do your homework. Seek wise counsel. Pray about it. Think it through.

But when you have that deep sense of knowing that something is worth pursuing, don't let someone else's fear make the decision for you.

Most meaningful things in life require a little courage and most successful businesses weren't built by people who waited until everyone agreed with them.
