Meet High Country and Rhett… two good-lookin’ studs who arrived a few weeks ago and are settling in. Next week, they’ll officially be meeting the ladies. 😎 😉🐂

Every few years it’s time to bring in new genetics, and we always make the trip to Iowa to visit Marilynn and Doug at Lenth Herefords. Their Hereford cattle are exactly what we’re looking for—outstanding genetics, sound cattle, and a breeding program built with years of knowledge, hard work, and care. High Country will breed the heifers (first time moms) because of his genetics. Rhett will be put with the moms. We’re excited to see the calves they produce and the future they’ll help build here at Granite Ridge Farm.

But it’s more than just buying bulls. We always enjoy spending time with Marilynn and Doug, touring their farm, talking cattle, and learning from them. They are a wealth of knowledge and are incredibly generous with their time, advice, and passion for raising Herefords. We leave every visit with not only great cattle, but new ideas and a greater appreciation for the work they do.

This year Matt and I had to divide and conquer, so Sam got to ride shotgun on the Iowa road trip. We missed making the trip with the kids, but we’re thankful Sam got to experience it.

A huge thank you to Marilynn and Doug for another outstanding pair of bulls. We appreciate your friendship, your hospitality, and your commitment to raising exceptional Herefords! ❤️🐂

Every fisherman has a fish story… but not everyone has the pictures to prove it! 😂📸 Twenty fish later (the daily limit!), this one is officially verified. 🎣

A huge thank you to cousin Christopher Kalafice and Casey for taking Brock on an unforgettable adventure out on the “big pond”— Lake Michigan. They left Wausau at 11:30 p.m., were on the water by 3:30 a.m., watched the sunrise over the lake, and spent the morning doing what they love.

The fish were biting, the reels were screaming, and those arms got quite the workout! One fish after another made for a morning Brock won’t soon forget… fishing alongside Chris, Casey, and Sam.

Chris has always been a passionate advocate for the outdoors, and we’re so grateful he shares that passion with the next generation. Thank you for sharing your passion, your knowledge, and your time. Get outside and enjoy all of nature in Wisco & the USA!!! ❤️🎣🌅

One thing we’ve discovered this summer… we absolutely LOVE the vibe of market season. 🐾💚

You’ll find us every Thursday evening at the Green Bay Titletown Night Market and every Sunday at the Knowlton House Distillery Farmers Market. It’s become one of our favorite parts of the week.

We love connecting with people. Meeting other vendors doing their thing, catching up with familiar faces, making new friends, hearing stories about your dogs, and, of course, meeting so many happy pups. Those conversations are what make these markets so special.

We’re also learning a few things along the way… like how to pack everything into our trusty old Chevy while still leaving room for a few humans. 😂 We’re figuring out how to set up, take down, and how to keep a tent from taking flight when the Wisconsin wind decides to join the party (baler twine & tractor weights 😉)!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to chat, support our small family farm, or spoil your four-legged best friend with treats. Every purchase, every conversation, and every tail wag means more than you know.

And a special thank you to all of our family and friends who jump in to help us at the markets. You never know who’s going to be working alongside us from week to week, and we couldn’t do it without each of you. ❤️🐶

Here’s to many more Thursday and Sunday evenings filled with great people, wagging tails, and market memories. We hope to see you this summer!

First crop hay is underway! 🌾💚 There’s something so satisfying about seeing hay cut, raked, baled, and wrapped. It feels good knowing we’re already putting up feed to care for our cattle this winter. We still have more first crop to make, but getting started is a huge relief! A big thank you to Matt’s dad, Uncle Eug, Brock, and Matt for all the long hours and hard work & Aaron jumping in when we had a breakdown! Here’s to good weather (well, there will be no hay making this coming week with humidity and storms), and safe haymaking as we keep rolling! 🚜☀️🌾
