Let’s talk about glute work!!

If you’ve been getting massage for awhile, you’re probably (hopefully!) familiar with glute work. But if not, you may have questions, like:

*WHY would you massage my butt?

* Can I keep my underwear on?

* Will I feel too exposed with direct work?

And I’m here to answer them all!

1- Lots of muscles here, working hard, often ignored! The position of your hips relates to muscle tension. Glutes are often the source of low back pain. Everything is connected and glutes are a big piece of the puzzle that we shouldn’t ignore.

2- Absolutely you can. I do glute work through the sheet all the time. Your comfort is the most important thing!

3- My clients don’t- I’m careful to drape appropriately and hold the edge of the sheet down with one hand while I work. But if you do? We switch back to working through the sheet! Keeping you comfy and your nervous system feeling safe is priority #1.
