In light of the tragic loss of lives on the roadways in our community, I feel very compelled to write my thoughts.
We are saddened every time we hear of the accidents surrounding us. In our everyday driving with students, we see so many things on our roadways and it's a dangerous place. Some of these horrific losses could have been avoided by following laws and rules of the road. Everyone should make it home to their loved ones.
Daily, we encounter more law breakers than drivers who actually follow the law. With our students, we are teaching how to watch out for these law breakers and reckless drivers and how to save themselves or someone else. We shouldn't be living like this.
Whenever a tragic accident happens, as a community, we need to support the people that have lost their loved ones. We often ask ourselves, "what can we do to help?'.
How about this..... Keep those people in our thoughts and prayers, support them in this difficult time.... but here is the one that I would like us to focus on as a community..... we can help by making our roads safer and helping to prevent these accidents. We can help by taking a look at ourselves and asking, am I driving in a manner that is reckless? Am I driving in a manner that can hurt someone? Am i driving in manner that is breaking the law? We can honor people's memories by simply following the law and being respectful on our roadways. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Do the right thing. Everyone has a place to be. We are all trying to get from A to B. BE A GOOD HUMAN! Follow the laws. Drive in a manner that is safe and responsible. This my friends, is how we as a community can support these people and show respect. This is what we can do to keep the memory of their loved ones alive.
We love our community and the people who live here, let's please do better.
