We interviewed one of our software engineers who have their own UniFi network. During our interview, he gave some insight into how they set up their DIY SOHO network.

The first question we asked was, "Why did you change your network setup?" and his response was the following: "I wanted a more covered area of my home network. So, I started looking into options to expand my network and make it simple to manage.

I stumbled across everything from UniFi to TP-Link. UniFi has easy-to-manage devices. In contrast, TP-Link was better for the wallet. I wanted my network to grow if it needed to. UniFi seemed like the solution I was seeking. Their ecosystem was expandable. To set up a new device, I would plug it in and have it running in minutes."
