I got to meet some ROYALTY this week! 👑🤩

The Iowa Dairy Princesses invited me to spend some time with them and share a few public speaking tips. It was great to see their passion for helping people understand where their food comes from and the important role Iowa dairy farmers play in our state.

As promised, here’s our annual birthmark friends update! Nearly 10 years ago, these three girls with port wine stain birthmarks found each other — and it has been so helpful to have this special bond.

In this story, the girls catch up and I talk with a doctor about a new treatment option called PDT. It is showing promise in clinical trials and could change the path for those looking for an alternative to laser treatments.

These girls had such a fun time catching up once again this year and bonding over their unique marks that help make them who they are! We’re so grateful for these friendships and the chance to help spread awareness and understanding.

BREAKING: We now know more about the conditions of the 5 people injured in a shooting in downtown Iowa City overnight, and police are still searching for the suspects.

Iowa City Police say:

• Officers responded to a large fight near the Pedestrian Mall around 1:46 a.m.
• Gunshots were fired as officers arrived
• Five people were shot and taken to local hospitals
• One victim is in critical condition
• Police have released photos of persons of interest

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families as police continue investigating this overnight violence.
