āļø Frozen Waterline Prevention Reminder āļø
With persistent cold temperatures and more wind in the forecast, we are already seeing an increase in frozen residential waterlines.
Residents are encouraged to run a small, steady stream of cold water overnight (about the size of a pencil lead) to help prevent your homeās waterline from freezing. Moving water is less likely to freeze and can help avoid costly damage and thawing bills.
Running a little water costs only a few cents per nightāfar less than repairing a burst pipe or calling an emergency thawing contractor.
Quick tips:
⢠Open cabinet doors to warm plumbing
⢠Insulate exposed pipes
⢠Run a small, steady stream of cold water overnight from the faucet farthest from your water meter.
