Curious about the difference between AP and dual enrollment courses? Here's something worth knowing when you're planning ahead.

A study from the Early College Research Center followed North Carolina high school students into in state public universities and tracked how their credits transferred:
• 77% of dual enrollment courses transferred for college credit
• 31% of AP courses transferred for college credit

Dual enrollment credits are also more likely to count toward a student's college major once they enroll, not just toward general elective credit.

One thing to know: dual enrollment grades become part of a student's official college transcript, so they carry forward in a way AP grades do not. That's a good reason to treat the coursework seriously, and it's exactly why the credit holds up so well down the road.
