Adjusting Tension on a New Saw Chain

New saw chains stretch during their initial break-in period as the components settle. If left unchecked, a loose chain can easily derail (come off the bar), significantly increasing the risk of severe injury.

✅ Check and adjust the chain tension frequently during the first few cuts.
⚠ Never reuse a chain that has derailed, as it may be damaged, cracked, or deformed.
