The George Washington University’s Division for Student Affairs is excited to welcome the Walk for Peace to our Foggy Bottom campus!

This inspiring movement began on Oct. 26, 2025, when nearly two dozen Buddhist monks (also referred to as Bhantes) and Aloka the Peace Dog, from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, embarked on a 2,300-mile walking journey to Washington, D.C., to promote national healing, unity, and compassion.

Be part of this global event while experiencing the powerful message of peace that this movement represents.

The Eckles Prize for First Year Research Excellence will be accepting submissions from December 1st to December 31st. This annual prize recognizes students who produce a research project in their first year that demonstrates significant and meaningful use of library services and collections at The George Washington University.
