If you’ve already started posting content hoping to grow your audience and eventually land brand deals...

Don’t wait for brands to find you.

I thought I needed thousands of followers too.

Then I discovered UGC.

I started posting in November with 0 followers. Since then, I’ve worked with 80+ brands, including Amazon Canada, Blink, Cottonelle, and Skylight. Some months, UGC earns me more than my corporate job—and I’m still not an influencer.

If you’re already creating content, you’re closer than you think.

If you’re a millennial who’s been looking for a side hustle that actually fits around a busy life, this is for you.

I still work a corporate job, have 3 kids, and built UGC on the side. You don’t need a huge following to get started.

I don’t think enough millennials talk about this.

You can love your family.
Love your career.
Be grateful for everything you’ve built...
..and still feel like something is missing.

That doesn’t make you selfish or ungrateful.

For me, I wasn’t looking for a new life—I was looking for something that challenged me creatively and gave me another way to provide for my family.

UGC became that missing piece.

If you’ve been feeling the same way, follow along. I’ll show you exactly how I built a UGC business while working a 9–5 and raising three kids.

If I had to restart my UGC journey today, this is the exact roadmap I’d follow:

1. Research UGC on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
2. Study successful creators, hooks, and portfolios.
3. Create a dedicated Gmail and UGC social accounts.
4. Film 4 mock UGC videos using products you already own.
5. Create a 30-second intro video.
6. Build a simple Canva portfolio.
7. Sign up for as many UGC apps and platforms as possible.
8. Spend at least one hour every day applying for jobs.
9. Check X and Reddit daily for UGC opportunities.
10. Start posting on your own social media from day one.

You don’t need followers to land your first brand deal.

But building your personal brand is what turns outbound pitching into inbound opportunities over time.

If you’re serious about starting your UGC journey, join the free UGC University community. It’s full of creators sharing advice, wins, opportunities, and feedback to help you grow.

There’s this weird idea that making content somehow makes you “less of a man.”

I couldn’t disagree more.

If picking up a camera helps you create another income stream, spend more time with your family, and provide a better life for the people you love... that’s something to be proud of.

Don’t let your ego stop you from building the life you want.

Men belong in content creation too.

Who’s with me? 👇

It’s funny how one small decision can completely change the direction of your life.

A few months ago, I had no idea where one click would lead me.

Now I’m about to experience one of the biggest full-circle moments of my career, and I genuinely can’t wait to share it with you.

Not quite yet... but very soon. 👀

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

Don’t underestimate the opportunities that seem small today. They might just become the story you’re telling a few months from now.

People love saying, “If you’re so successful, why would you teach it?”

Simple.

Because one skill can create multiple income streams.

If you’ve mastered something, why wouldn’t you coach, consult, create products, or teach others alongside doing the work?

That’s not a red flag.

That’s called diversification.

The goal isn’t to make money one way. The goal is to build a business that isn’t dependent on a single income stream.
