Gallaudet University
Raised by a Deaf mother who believed in his leadership, Dr. Lorne Farovitch came to Gallaudet and found a community that helped him embrace his identity and grow into the international changemaker he is today.
That foundation inspired him to create the Global Deaf Research Institute, dedicated to fighting misinformation, documenting human rights, and advocating for Deaf-inclusive policies worldwide.
Dr. Lorne turned his education into a mission to empower Deaf communities everywhere, carrying forward the very leadership his mother always believed in.

This summer, Deaf and hard of hearing high school students made the most of Gallaudet's Summer Youth Programs. Whether they were competing on the field, capturing photos, tackling STEM projects, or diving into ASL and Deaf culture, campers explored new interests every step of the way.
They experienced life as a Gallaudet student, explored more than 60 areas of study, and connected curiosity to future possibilities.
