We like to thank everyone who came out tonight for our s*x trafficking awareness event! We are so honored to have had the speakers that spoke and to have all of you come out here to support us!
We can honestly say that we all have made a difference as spreading the word about the issue of s*x trafficking is very important in combating s*x trafficking! We also would like to thank those who signed out petition that calls for a law that mandates s*x trafficking training for D.C. police officers!
If you could not attend tonight's event or would just like more information on how you can help, feel free to email us at [email protected] and we would be more than happy to put you in touch with organizations that fight human trafficking!
Again,
thank you all for your support!
p.s. we also will be posting updates on the progress of our petition as well as more activities we are planning!

Lets keep the tags for clothing, not children!
"The internal or “domestic” component of human trafficking is much larger than the international one. Nationally, more than 200,000 American children are at risk for being lured into s*x trafficking each year" (Children at Risk)
Come to our S*x Trafficking Awareness Event this upcoming Tuesday (April 1st) at 6pm in Ward 2!

With only 7 DAYS left until our awareness event, lets open dialogue about THE DEFINITION OF SEX-TRAFFICKING. People often confuse s*x-trafficking with prostitution, but in fact, they are very different. The importance about this difference was highlighted when Holly Smith, a victim of s*x-trafficking, spoke out in 2012 about how she was mistreated by law-enforcement officials as a s*x-trafficking victim. "Without receiving compassion or empathy from the police, a child may come to view anyone involved in his or her case with contempt and distrust, thereby compromising the child’s openness towards after-care services," Smith stated. Learn more about the need to include police educational training about s*x-trafficking below, and attend our EVENT on April 1st @ 6pm in Ward 2 to be part of the CHANGE. Lets combat s*x-trafficking together!
