In 2010, Eli McCarthy and Cortez McDaniel asked a game-changing question: What if we could equip everyday community members with the skills to prevent, de-escalate, and heal violence themselves?
What began as a safe passage program for kids walking to school has blossomed over 15 years into the DC Peace Teamโa vibrant network of unarmed civilian protection, restorative justice, and nonviolence training.
Nonviolence transforms neighborhoods from the ground up, but sustainable peace requires a reliable foundation.
Thatโs why we launched the Peacebuilder Collective. Monthly donations are the bedrock of our work, fueling our Community Safety Units and local trainings.
๐ Help us meet our goal of 15 new monthly partners by June 2nd! Click the link in our bio to join the Collective. ๐
