Minority World funders often talk about shifting power. Peace Direct has just launched a free self-assessment tool to check that commitment.

The tool looks at five dimensions that shape funding relationships: who decides which problems get addressed, who sets the strategy, who holds the power once funding starts moving, how much funding actually reaches the ground, and who decides what counts as success.

Free, self-guided, and available in English, Arabic, Spanish and French.

If you're a funder, or you work with one, this is for you.

Rooted in several rounds of consultations with people from a wide range of organisations and co-designed by EJ Win and Alex Martins. It is coordinated by CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, MCLD, Peace Direct, United Network of Young Peacebuilders, Peace Direct, and The Advocacy Team.

Voices of the Decade 06/25/2026

What have we learned from the voices behind MCLD's first decade?

No matter where people are, these messages keep coming through:

💚 Communities know their strengths.
💚 Communities know their challenges.
💚 Communities know what change looks like.

The leaders featured in our Voices of the Decade series have shared stories about collective action, local leadership, partnership, and hope. They've reminded us that meaningful change happens when people come together around a shared vision for their communities.

As we celebrate MCLD's learning and collaboration, we're grateful to everyone who has contributed their experiences, ideas, and leadership to this growing movement.

Thank you for helping build a future where communities are not just included in development, but lead it.
