Why are companies still hiding salaries?⁣

In the hiring process, many applicants still need to jump through hoops to find out the role’s budget.⁣

Imagine if the rest of life was like that. ⁣

🤔 Imagine not telling a plumber your budget...and then getting mad when they ask.⁣

🤔 Imagine instructing your wedding planner to host a 300 person event, but refusing to tell them your budget until they’ve already booked the venue.⁣

🤔 Imagine going to the dealership insisting on a new Mercedes, but you only have budget for a used Chevy…and you’re keeping that a secret until they’re ready to hand over the keys.⁣

Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?⁣

Fortunately, the tide is starting to turn.⁣

👏California legislature recently sent a bill to the Governor’s desk, which would employers to include pay scale in job postings — and provide the pay scale to current employees upon request.⁣

Colorado, Washington and New York City already have laws in place for pay disclosure on job postings.⁣

And more laws may be in the works.⁣

Leaders: It's time for salary transparency to become the norm — with or without legislation — so we can all stop playing these games and get down to business.⁣
