April gave us many opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations around prevention, accountability, and creating safer communities.

During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, our Executive Director Neil Irvin participated in the DC SAFE Spring Luncheon alongside fellow panelists Dr. Dena Williams Hasan, MPH (StraightCircle Solutions), Dr. Roger A Mitchell Jr MD (National Medical Association), and Jayrick Hayes (Young Adult Dating & Relationship Coaching) for a discussion on shared responsibility in preventing violence against women and the importance of healthy masculinity in this work.

As proud members of the DC Coalition to End Sexual Violence(DCCESV), we were honored to join partners and community leaders working together to support the sustained impact of violence prevention efforts across our communities.

We are proud to reflect on Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) as part of our ongoing commitment to primary prevention and community building. It is a privilege to serve as a member of the DC Coalition to end sexual violence working collectively to advance awareness, healing, and prevention.

This month, we joined the second annual SAAM panel hosted by the US Attorney’s Office and the Academy of Hope Adult Public Charter School, where our Executive Director Neil Irvin contributed to conversations on prevention, bystander empowerment, and addressing sexual violence as a men’s issue.

We also connected with community members at the resource fair, inspired by the students and ongoing community-driven work.

We continued the month at our SAAM Happy Hour at Hotel Zena, where we gathered with partners across the movement.

We are grateful to our fellow coalition members and stakeholders of the DC Coalition to End Sexual Violence for continuing this shared work to end sexual violence and strengthen communities.

Problem:
Too many trainings become a checkbox:
✔ Attend
✔ Sit through slides
✔ Move on
No real change.

Solution:
What if your training actually shifted culture?

HMTI is designed to:
• Challenge assumptions
• Build real skills
• Create lasting impact

Because this work is too important to be performative.
