Women who breastfeed have a 26% lower risk of breast cancer and a 37% lower risk of ovarian cancer.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, only 43% of babies under 6 months are exclusively breastfed. That is below the global average.
This World Breastfeeding Week, supporting moms means supporting their access to healthcare too.
