We laid my grandmother to rest yesterday. Before the service, my cousin reminded me that the hyphen between the birth date and the death date is what matters most. During her funeral, I realized how full my grandmother’s hyphen truly was—with community, church,love, friendship,compassion and family.
She was such an impressive woman, and I left the service feeling so proud to have been loved by her and to carry on her legacy.
