I am proud to have played a significant role in the effort to make Juneteenth a national holiday. Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the continuing pursuit of justice and equality for all Americans.

My heart is heavy as I offer my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Spencer Lee Jr. The loss of someone with so much life and promise ahead of them is an unimaginable tragedy, and our entire community shares in your profound sorrow.
