Can Manufacturers Institute Celebrates America Recycles Day Can Manufacturers Institute's President Scott Breen issued the following statement to recognize the celebration of America Recycles Day.

CMI Members are excited to sponsor the Million Cans Recycling Contest for the 2025-2026 school year! This is the third year in-a-row for and the contest launches today!🚀

♻️Since 2023, our young recyclers have collected more than 3.5 million used aluminum beverage cans! We cannot wait to see how many cans they recycle this year!

🎉Elementary school students from 50+ schools nationwide will compete to see who can collect the most cans for recycling. Schools keep 100% of the money from the cans they recycle at local scrapyards.

🍦And students compete to win fun prizes! We are starting the contest on a sweet note! Can captains that collect enough used aluminum beverage cans by the end of October win an ice cream party for their class!
