1. Identify the structure and central ideas of the Gospel of Mark in its context and what it says for our own contexts
2. Pay close attention to the biblical text, one another, and their communities, to strengthen their skills, confidence, and humility in the interpretation of Scripture
3. Understand the cultural context of the Gospel of Mark and increase interpretive attentiveness for their own contexts
4. Explore how the Gospel of Mark continues to be an aid for the church’s spiritual formation
