Back to work
After being laid off in November 2024 I’m finally back at it. I’m not gonna to lie, the job search was hard….AF. As a Black woman it felt nearly impossible at times and the only way I could get back in was by taking a $31k pay cut. That part still makes my chest hurt.
In the middle of all this I had to step away from NAK Design Studio and take a break from building our first app . That was hard too because my vision for both is so much bigger than where I am right now.
So here I am, back at work. Complaining a little because it’s not what I wanted but also thankful because I know how hard it was to get here. Frustrated and grateful at the same time. Both can be true.
This is just another stressful 😩chapter and not the whole story.
I love pulling bridal inspo from unexpected places, and this year’s Met Gala did not disappoint. I took a few of my favorite looks and matched them with bridal gowns that give the same energy. I broke each one down with a bridal theme, bride archetype, and when you’d actually wear it.
